Montescudaio is a medieval town located in the province of Pisa in Tuscany, Italy. The city has existed since the 11th century and is famous for its excellent red and white wines. The area is known as Val di Cecina, which means "shield maker" in Latin. During Roman rule, there was a large military presence on top of the hill where the town now sits.
